Assalamu'alaikum !
Being able to provide something to someone in need is a virtue; may it be a gift, a donation, an advice, a helping hand or just a simple smile. Be grateful to Allah the Almighty, for the opportunity He gave to honor you through the act of giving. Giving brings a real meaning to life. Our lives become more significant through giving. Without having the desire to offer anything, life would be meaningless. What more, as asking or begging is a humiliation, dishonor and a disgrace for a Muslim.
Allah has assured a handsome reward to the charitable. So, let us live a life of giving, more than that of asking and begging. The glorious Al Quran tells us of people who turn their heads away crying in shame for not being able to provide anything when it is required of them. This is the kind of sensitivity we must try to feel for ourselves; for this is how the magnificent people in the Al Quran feel. Remember! No matter how much we give away, Allah always compensates. All is not lost. So, what have you contributed today? Then, tomorrow perhaps… Salaam.
