Assalamu’alaikum !
On the authority of Abu Harayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) it is reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said,
“Allah (swt) says: The fast is for Me and I will give the reward for it, as he (the one who observes the fast) leaves his sexual desire, food and drink for My Sake. Fasting is like a shield (from sins and the hellfire), and he who fasts has two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast and a joy when he will meet his Lord (on the Day of Judgement). And the smell emanating from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the Sight of Allah than even the smell of musk.’”
